Wedding invitation software may already be on your computer. Yes, if you have a good word processing program you really don't need any other software.
I use Microsoft works, others have used Microsoft Word. Either will work. I think Works is easier. You can decide. But you will find it easy to make your invites with Works.
Simply set your card size and import the graphics you want. Use a nice font and you can have a very nice wedding card. I have been making many invitations with the program. Using the data base, you can even address your wedding invitation envelopes to match.
There are many graphic design programs. I use Adobe Indesign. But this is a few hundred dollars. It also requires a big learning curve. If you want to make nice looking invites without the expense or learning curve than Microsoft Works is perfect.
Most everyone I know has this software. It comes with most new computers. It is a full program. Unlike Microsoft Word, it is not just a short 90 day trial. You will be able to use it now. Once you learn some of the features you will really enjoy using it.
Because you can import your own clip art and photos, it is very versatile. Using some nice wedding clip art and a pretty font, you will make have the ability to get the look you want. You have a lot of color choices too.
You can make your wedding invitations look professional with this program. There is no need for special wedding invitation software.
Once you learn the basics, you will be able to make lots of things. You can make your wedding invitations, your RSVP cards, the matching envelope with your return address on it, plus a reception card. All of these can be made in this program.
It makes good sense to learn to use the software you have and save the money. Imagine being able to even address your guests envelopes in the same beautiful font. The look will be clean and professional. You will give a great first impression.
Your guests will appreciate having a beautiful addressed invitation sent to them. This will make them feel important. I have gotten many compliments from the invitations I have sent. I did my in-laws 50th anniversary announcements in a gold type and addressed the envelopes to match. I used Park Avenue. My husbands uncle said it was the nicest invitation he had gotten in his life. And he added that he had gotten many invitations that were much more expensive he was sure. I can't think of a better compliment.
So try to use the software you have. You don't need special wedding invitation software.
